Today we introduce our Beta Readers program, looking for people who are willing to read the work of our authors. Its goal is to give our authors the chance to have their work seen by many fresh eyes. If you’re a writer yourself, you know what I’m talking about. You see your own words so often that they blur together, and having someone new read the work is a big help.
So what will you gain? You get free books to read by authors who have been through an intensive process of editing. You get to tell us, the editor and ultimately the author, what worked for you and what didn’t. Those of you who are local will also have opportunities to meet the authors.
Of course, there are some requirements, but they aren’t too many:
1. Given the costs of printing and mailing, we can only send out e-books.
2. We need you to write reviews of the books that you read and send us the links to those reviews. Write them on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, and so forth.
3. If you like a book, talk it up with your friends and relations. Authors can write good books only when they’re making money for doing so.
4. Please let me know what genres you do not want to read. We represent a variety of authors . To our way of thinking, a good writer is good, no matter what type of story is being told, but I understand that some things don’t appeal to everyone.
You can also follow us on Twitter @OghmaCreative and like us on Facebook. If you or anyone you know is looking for editing, graphic design, or social media work, we’d be glad to offer you those services. To participate in this program or for any other enquiries about Oghma, write to firstname.lastname@example.org and please put Oghma in the subject line.
Thank you for your time. We look forward to hearing from you.
